Today I’m going to share with you an adorable story to set the mood for this adorable couple: Jessica and Adam were best friends in kindergarten, eventually lost touch when she moved away, but reconnected in their 20s and started dating, and finally tied the knot this past summer for their Lake Tahoe wedding.
Kindergarten sweethearts! Because of their solid base of friendship over so many years, their relationship as a couple is really strong and based on mutual respect and sharing their emotions. This really comes across in their connection.
I had the privilege of shooting their engagement session last year in Tahoe after they found me on Instagram, and they soon booked me for their upcoming 4th of July wedding. I had no idea at the time what a genuine, sweet and all around adorable couple they would be! Could not be happier for them and their life together.
Keep Tahoe Blue especially for a Lake Tahoe wedding
Tahoe is a special place for these two love birds – and I have to agree! They have family ties in the area, and really enjoy visiting as often as possible. They chose the pretty incredible location of the Lakeview Lodge at Heavenly. Heavenly indeed! This perch on top of the mountains in South Lake Tahoe had the most impressive view of the deep blue lake that I’ve ever seen.
Guests even got to take a gorgeous gondola ride up to reach the ceremony location. Taking your vows with such an impressive backdrop was something they envisioned sharing with their guests, and it was totally fantastic.
4th of July can be kind of crazy especially in Tahoe, but fortunately, Jessica and Adam were able to enjoy the best part of the day surrounded by friends and family – the fantastic fireworks show over the lake! Everyone took a break from the dance floor to gather at the edge of the terrace overlook and watch the colorful show that seemed planned just for them.
They even watched fireworks on their first date – so this was particularly significant for them!
I had so much fun shooting them, but I think they enjoyed their day too! Here is a quote from Jess about our time together:
“I don’t even know how to put it into words! We feel so blessed to have had you be a part of our day, and our lives! From start to finish, you made our wedding day fun, while still capturing it perfectly. Everyone raves about how fantastic you were, and family and friends have said they “have to have you” in the future.
I have never been into things like maternity or family shoots – but in the future I now want to do them all just so we can hang out! We are so thrilled that fate (aka Instagram) brought us together.”
Let’s just say that the feeling is mutual. Thanks so much for letting me be a part of your story, Jess & Adam!
