An engagement session in Lake Tahoe, Ca

Tahoe is always a beautiful location, but when you add a sweet couple and sparkling sunset light, you get something pretty magical.

CHILDHOOD SWEETHEARTS

Jessica and Adam have the cutest story. They’ve known each other since they were 5 and were even best friends in kindergarten! Many years (decades) later, they reconnected and started dating. Now they’re engaged and getting married this summer. That’s almost too adorable for words!

ADVENTURES ABOUND

These two are genuine people, relaxed and super easy to get along with! One of my favorite moments when working with couples (other than the actual shoot) is getting to know them a little better to see what makes them tick. With Jessica and Adam, we talked a bit about what makes them special, as a couple and as individuals. Some nice descriptions kept coming up like family, adventure, cooking, staying cozy at home, as well as adventure road trips. Yep! I get that!  Not so long ago, I took a weekend road trip to Joshua Tree just for fun (blog post on that coming soon). Bottom line, we were all on the same page and we decided to go all together on a new adventure – their gorgeous Lake Tahoe engagement session!

LAKE DAY

Deciding where to do the shoot was super easy. The couple lives in the Bay Area, but are planning for their wedding in gorgeous Sierra Nevadas overlooking Tahoe this summer.  I had been hoping to shoot at Lake Tahoe for a while – who can resist that unique blue color? It’s not my first time shooting in the Tahoe area, but this particular shoreline spot made for such a romantic sunset shoot. We drove up the mountains and spent a few hours soaking in the sun, climbing over rocks, and capturing their sweet connection.
