Fun & Family
Think back to some of your favorite vacations. If you’re anything like me, there are usually two things that stand out: the beauty of the location, and the wonderful people I’m sharing it with. Okay, and the food probably comes third. So when Lacy and Dusty contacted me with the idea of a small destination wedding surrounded by just a few family members in the NorCal redwoods, I knew it was going to be awesome. More of a beautiful family vacation than a big to-do. And I love how it turned out!
Intimate northern california wedding on the coast
It’s no secret that I have a crush on the California coast. I pretty much jump at any opportunity I have to shoot there; especially intimate weddings like this one in Big Sur or this one on the Sonoma County coast. Driving up the iconic Highway 1 feels like a singularly beautiful experience with the deep blue of the Pacific on your left, and the gnarled cypress and towering redwoods on your right. There are so many beautiful, removed and amazing spots to choose from. Anywhere you stop, you could imagine having a magical moment to celebrate your union.
Redwood Magic
Lacy and Dusty choose to have their wedding with their family in the charming rental, Water Tower Loft, near Elk. The grounds of the rental house provided a perfect low-key and stylish location for them to exchange their vows. Everything was on-site (including the guests!) and the simplicity of their small ceremony allowed for ample bonding and visiting time. We even were able to sneak away for a surprisingly soft sunset session to close out their beautiful day.
