Jayme and Jeff are this sweet and caring couple who have moved and lived in quite a few cool spots, but decided to do a Brooklyn engagement session. I’m not going to make a big introduction here, because I just really want to show you these pictures! I couldn’t be happier! Your Unique Places
I’m a pretty big believer in documenting the places you’ve been with your love. And yes, this means vacations and trips. But I think it’s a really under-appreciated technique to always make sure to grab pictures of places you’ve actually lived: the place you were when you first met, the apartments you lived in for those first weeks or months of dating, the first home you shared together, any of the cities and neighborhoods you experienced longterm together. It may seem insignificant to grab photos of your crappy little studio, or the corner drugstore you pass each day. But I promise, when you move on, these seemingly banal everyday things will fade into memories. And it’s always so fun (and sometimes awkward) to look back at these places you’ve shared.
For that reason, I totally LOVED the idea that Jayme and Jeff had for their engagement session. They had been living in New York for several years together, but a job change meant they’d soon be leaving for a new city. Before making the move, they wanted to have their engagement session in the borough that’s near and dear to their hearts – Brooklyn.
Brooklyn Is For Lovers
As you can tell, we lucked out with some pretty awesome weather for our evening shoot. The sun setting over the East River and the Skyline made for a particularly graphic scene, and the perfect backdrop for their pictures. Plus, working with them was just super fun and enjoyable! It was a great evening, a great city, and a great couple. Thanks again for being awesome guys!
