A Family Foothills Wedding in Murphys

Forest and Jon celebrated their Sierra Foothills wedding surrounded by friends, family and furry companions in Murphys, California.

Family and Furry Friends

I met Forest and Jon in San Diego when we shot their romantic engagement shoot in Balboa Park. Seeing their connection and fun-loving attitudes, I knew that their wedding would be something special.

The two met in college while both studying to become veterinarians. Animals are obviously a huge part of their lives, so it was no surprise that their furry loves were part of their big day too! Their sweet and fuzzy doggies not only shared the fun preparation but were a special part of the ceremony and party! Check out the awesome bow-tie detail!

Foothills Sunset

Although they now live in San Diego, they decided to tie the knot at a family home in Murphys, California.

Murphys is an adorable little town in the foothills of the Sierras – an area of California that I particularly appreciate (as can be seen in some of my favorite pics of 2016 – click here to see more). Not far from the central California mountains surrounding Yosemite Valley, and yet with a similar country vibe to places like Auburn and Tahoe.

The down-to-earth, backyard and yet elegant feel of their big day was representative of this couple! Chilled out friends and family, tons of laughter, elegant and cheerful details, and lots of love.

Final Thoughts

I had a special connection to this awesome couple from day 1. We clicked and had such a great time on their big day. Forrest and Jon seem to think so too. Here are some of their kind words:

He has this uncanny knack for making us feel like he isn’t even there even though he was ALL over the place making sure to get the right shot in the right light at the right moment. Neither of us have EVER been so satisfied and fulfilled by a service such as this.
