Twice as Nice
They choose to celebrate their wedding in 2 parts: first, close to home in San Francisco. Then, later in mystical New Zealand. Both parts were planned to be small, intimate and full of fun and emotion. I love that both of the locations they chose were full of meaning for them (as well as being totally gorgeous!). And I have to say, small intimate coastal weddings are some of my favorites.
Wedding & Chill intimate coastal wedding in San Francisco
One of the things that made their wedding day super unique was their ‘getting ready’ session. It’s pretty standard for me to grab some shots of the bride and groom as they prepare. It’s actually one of my favorite parts of the wedding day because of the excitement, anticipation, and connections between close family members and friends. But Courtney and Jackson took it a step further and allowed me to come to shoot them in their home as they woke up for their big day. It’s just so sweet, and such a lovely, natural way to see them together – in pjs, no makeup, cuddling in bed or on their street.
They started their day at home in San Francisco. Then with just a handful of close friends and family in toe, they headed down to Pacifica for a sunset ceremony on the cliffs. I couldn’t believe how far away from the big city it felt, even though it was just a 20-minute drive! Definitely a killer spot in the Bay Area for a wedding. You can tell by the pictures – their little wedding party was totally alone. So cool and intimate!
Photographer of Photographers
There are few things as flattering as being asked to be the wedding photographer of another wedding photographer. I guess it would be like being asked to be the personal trainer of another personal trainer, or to be the personal chef for another chef. But when you get to photograph the wedding of TWO amazing wedding photographers? Just WOW. What an experience!
Not only are Courtney and Jackson utterly adorable together; they really are some incredibly talented people. Take a look at some of their work here. Thanks so much guys for trusting me with your big day!
