Rezeta & Rich
I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to travel and explore this beautiful state of California. And hands down one of my favorite places will always be the desert. I’m currently based in Northern California, so I was pleased and delighted when Rezeta and Rich selected the surrounding Yucca Valley area, along with Joshua Tree National Park, to capture their magical Pioneertown couple session.

Deep Commitment and Profound Love Of The Desert
East of the tumult and excitement that is Los Angeles, there’s quiet grace and majestic beauty in the desert with its spectacular vistas and amazing sunsets. As a photographer, the quality of natural light is almost other-worldly and lends itself to some of the lushest and most flattering photography that’s perfect for intimate portraiture, special occasions, and celebrations.
An Amazing Love Story…
To spend time with Rezeta and Rich is to understand their love and commitment to one another. Having met on a dating app, their mutual attraction was evident immediately. I could see how they quickly grew into the committed relationship I had the pleasure of capturing in the high desert.
Living in Los Angeles with their scene-stealing French bulldog, their mutually carefree and natural charisma shined throughout the shoot and informed our location selections from casual to intimate to adventurous.
Pioneertown Couple Session — the location as a California Original
Only in Southern California can you find an entire town that was conceived and built as a movie set with its own supporting community!
A gorgeous scenic drive a short distance northwest of Palm Springs and Yucca Valley, Pioneertown and the surrounding desert were the perfect place to capture Rezeta and Rich’s fun-loving spirit and natural, breezy charm.
The Shoot Itself
I love to catch couples at their most intimate and playful moments…and Rezeta and Rich didn’t disappoint. Photographing couples, whether for an elopement, a wedding and reception or to commemorate an engagement or recognize a commitment, is often about selecting the right location and timing for the perfect light. Our time together created a collection of photographs that captured Rezeta’s striking beauty as well as Rich’s charisma.
We chose several locations that were in and around Pioneertown and, even though the day was slightly overcast, we were able to record the incredible surroundings, unique southwestern architecture, and extraordinary desert flora.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of visiting this piece of Americana surrounded by the breathtaking desert and one of the most beautiful National parks in existence, it deserves a place on your bucket list immediately. Dusk in the desert features the most glorious and magical light that only served to enhance Rezeta and Rich’s naturally attractive appearance.
Whether dancing, cuddling with their adorable pup, or gazing into each other’s eyes, Rezeta and Rich embody a carefree, natural attraction that two self-confident people display when they have found the person who is utterly right for them.
With their interests aligning through travel, film, or a fantastic bottle of red wine, this desert adventure session was the perfect way to celebrate their love and share their commitment to one another. The photographs seem to capture the anticipation and expectancy of future adventures that await and their autobiography that’s yet to be written.
Whatever the future may hold for these two, it promises to be eventful! I wish Rezeta and Rich all the happy memories that they have yet to create.
It’s always my goal to honor a couple’s story and create a montage of their relationship that can be shared with family and friends…one that can be revisited often as their connection continues to grow and evolve.
And while there are countless extraordinary scenic locations to showcase a relationship, the southwestern desert, Pioneertown and Joshua Tree will always be high on my list of personal favorites.
